Nearest underground stations – Pimlico and Vauxhall on the Victoria line (10 to 15-minute walk to Tate Britain)
If you have visited Tate Britain recently you may have seen the splendid galleries set up solely for British Art Through the Ages and where the works of Turner, Constable, Gainsborough, Reynolds – far too many to list here – are set out in chronological order. Over the years, British artists have had a significant influence on the world of art. We have arranged for Art Historians to take us on a 90-minute tour of this section of the museum. We will have the benefit of their expertise in looking, learning and discovering some of those intriguing insights found in works of art.
On our arrival at Tate Britain, we will be provided with coffee and pastries in the cafe from 10.30 am before meeting our guides for the tour which starts at 11.30 am. Easy to carry portable stools may be borrowed and there are lifts. After our tour, you are free to visit the rest of the museum at your leisure (maybe after lunch in the cafe, which serves both hot and cold meals and snacks).
