Tenterden Town Station is the main headquarters for the heritage railway, with a book and gift shop, plus a café.
Your train ticket will allow you travel on any train out in the morning from Tenterden station on any of the three trains departing between 10.40 am to 13.15 pm. The journey takes 45 minutes, travelling through the Rother Valley and culminating with a lovely view of Bodiam Castle (see picture above) just before we arrive at Bodiam station. Depending on the train you use, you may have time to walk down the lane to visit the National Trust Bodiam Castle or look at the Edith Cavell exhibition in Bodiam station yard (this exhibition was visited by Michael Portillo’s BBC TV Great Railway Journeys programme).
The return train we have booked is the 14.18 pm from Bodiam where there will be an afternoon tea served on board in the restaurant car (included in the ticket price). This train will arrive back at Tenterden at 15.07 pm. The Ashford designer outlet shopping centre is 12 miles from Tenterden which may be an interesting route back to the motorway for your journey home.
NOTE: Online Booking and Online Payment is available for this event (however, a stamped addressed envelope is still required for sending you the tickets).
