Accommodation
We will be staying at the Swan Hotel for four nights. The Swan combines the beauty of a historic building with all the advantages of a modern hotel. The building is a striking, idyllic 14th-century coaching inn set in the timeless city of Wells, opposite the famous cathedral. The city itself is full of culture and reminders of older times. It is a beautiful location to visit.
Note: This Short Break is being run for us by Success Tours and the coach company we are using is Barnett’s of Hemel Hempstead – each of whom we have used for previous holidays.
Itinerary
Our itinerary will include:
- A guided tour of the Bristol Aerospace Museum
- A visit to SS Great Britain
- A guided tour of Wells Cathedral
- A visit to the Bishop’s Palace and Gardens in Wells
- Time to explore Historic Wells
- A trip to Stourhead House and Gardens (National Trust)
- A stopover on our return at Bath*
* Bath is only a stopover on our return journey, not a full day.
Price
The price is dependent on the total number of people booking, and whether or not you require a twin/double room with single occupancy:

The price includes:
- Executive coach from Victoria Coach Station in London (directly behind Victoria Station)
- 4 nights half-board accommodation (we have double, twin and single rooms reserved)
- 3-course evening meal with 3 choices per course, including vegetarian option.
Dinner is at 7:00 pm and breakfast at 8:00 am daily. Tables seat 4 or 6 people
Note: You may choose to drive yourself instead of taking the coach. There will be no price reduction for this unless we get more than 30 people taking the coach. Parking at the hotel is limited and very tight. You have been warned!
We have a limit of 48 people for this tour. You will be advised of numbers as people book, so that you are aware of the price you will have to pay. It is not viable to run this event for fewer than 25 people.
Payment
A deposit of £75 per person is required at time of booking. Cut-off date is 6th October 2023.
You will be notified of the final balance due; payment of this is required by 8th February 2024.
Online payment is preferred.
In addition, you are strongly advised to take out appropriate travel insurance for this holiday before you pay your deposit, in case you have to cancel for any reason.

If you have mobility issues please advise us in response to the Disability Assistance question, so that we can reserve a room that does not involve you climbing stairs.
Please also advise us of your room preference in response to the Additional Booking Information question. Choices are Single, Double or Twin.
