Tower Bridge Tour

Tower Bridge is an iconic London landmark and one of Britain’s best-loved historic sites. It was opened by Edward, Prince of Wales, and Alexandra, Princess of Wales, on 30 June 1894. You will learn about this incredible feat of Victorian engineering, discover how the bridge is raised and enjoy stunning panoramic views across London from the high-level walkways, 42 metres above the River Thames.

Our guide will bring this iconic structure to life, combining key facts from the Bridge’s fascinating history with curious, interesting anecdotes. It is the ultimate way to discover London’s defining landmark. Get up close and personal with the Towers, marvel at the amazing views from the walkways and glass floors, then head down to the Engine Rooms, where the original Victorian steam engines are on display.

This tour visits:

  • North and South Towers
  • High-Level Walkways
  • Glass Floors
  • The Engine Rooms

This tour starts at 11:00 and takes about 90 minutes.

HMS Belfast Tour

HMS Belfast is a Town-class light cruiser that was built for the Royal Navy. Commissioned in early August 1939, Belfast was initially part of the British naval blockade against Germany. In November 1939 Belfast triggered a German mine and then spent more than two years undergoing extensive repairs.

Belfast returned to action in November 1942 with improved firepower, radar equipment and armour. She saw action escorting Arctic convoys to the Soviet Union, played an important role in the Battle of North Cape, and supported the Normandy landings. Belfast saw further combat action in 1950–52 during the Korean War and was in active service until she entered the Royal Navy reserve in 1963.

Our host will be one of the Ship’s Company, for a unique experience of HMS Belfast. We will hear the stories of how the crew survived in freezing conditions during the Arctic Convoys to boiling conditions in the Far East; what it was like to be part of the action on D-Day and HMS Belfast’s role as part of the United Nations forces in Korea from 1950 to 1952.

Discover sailors’ stories of living and working on board and get exclusive access behind the barriers for the perfect photo opportunity. Explore what life was like aboard HMS Belfast. The guides have an unprecedented knowledge and will bring these historic stories to life for you.

This tour starts at 14:00 and takes about one hour.

Timing

The Tower Bridge tour ends around 12:30 and the HMS Belfast tour starts at 14:00. Since Belfast is about a 10 minute walk from Tower Bridge you will have time for lunch in between these tours.
