Across two action-packed days, enjoy breathtaking flying displays featuring Shuttleworth’s internationally renowned Collection alongside an exceptional line-up of visiting aircraft from the UK and overseas. This is a great day out for all the family.
And the excitement doesn’t stop at the flightline… Take in the festival atmosphere and family entertainment, with interactive experiences and free ground attractions across the entire site for visitors of all ages.
Whether you’re a lifelong aviation enthusiast, a family looking for an unforgettable day out, or a first-time visitor, Festival of Flight promises a weekend filled with excitement and exceptional flying.
Children can enjoy a range of engaging activities at the Discovery Zones as well as access to the world-famous Shuttleworth Collection, children’s playground, café and gift shop.
The stunning Swiss Garden will also be open for you to enjoy a walk through the delightful Regency and Victorian layered scenery.
There are also vintage bus rides to the impressive Shuttleworth House where you can learn about the rich history of the Shuttleworth family.
The Shuttleworth Collection is spread across six huge hangars. You will see how aviation design developed from Edwardian times up until the 1950s. Don’t miss the 1909 Blériot XI, which, along with all the other aircraft, is still airworthy. It’s the world’s oldest flying aeroplane and it regularly takes to the sky at Shuttleworth’s air shows.
The Collection also features early 20th century aircraft, cars, buses and motorbikes as well as steam engines and farm machinery. The workshop is always open too, so pop in to say hi and watch the restoration of these treasures.
Catering
There are on site catering facilities open for most of the day, but these can get quite busy on popular days such as this. We suggest you bring a picnic.
