The Shuttleworth Collection is spread across six huge hangars. You will see how aviation design developed from Edwardian times up until the 1950s. Don’t miss the 1909 Blériot XI, which, along with all the other aircraft, is still airworthy. It’s the world’s oldest flying aeroplane and it regularly takes to the sky at Shuttleworth’s air shows.
The Collection also features early 20th century aircraft, cars, buses and motorbikes as well as steam engines and farm machinery. The workshop is always open too, so pop in to say hi and watch the restoration of these treasures.
Catering
There are on site catering facilities open for most of the day, but these can get quite busy on popular days such as this. We suggest you bring a picnic.
Accessibility
Shuttleworth has plenty of open space, with flat areas and ramps in the hangars. The large site has a central parking location, so there is always a bit of a walk to get to all the key attractions. Please let the Shuttleworth team know of any specific needs on arrival; they will endeavour to park you as close as possible to yor preferred attraction.
Access to Shuttleworth House is via six steps (without handrails). Shuttleworth is unable to install handrails as the building is grade II* listed.
