The Black Country Living Museum is an open-air museum of rebuilt historic buildings in Dudley, West Midlands, England. It is located in the centre of the Black Country, 10 miles west of Birmingham. It is a wonderful place to explore, set in 26 acres, mobility friendly and with lots to see and do, including:
- Test your times tables in a 1912 school lesson
- Head underground for a glimpse of life as an 1850s miner
- Watch a vintage film in the 1920s cinema
- Tour the Boat Dock
- Take a mothercraft class in Lea Road Infant Welfare Centre
- Talk to costumed characters who bring history to life
- Listen to 1950s vinyl in the record shop
- Enjoy traditional 1930s-recipe chips
- Indulge your sweet tooth with 1950s-inspired confectionery
- Have a pint of Banks’s or a soft drink in one of the two pubs
- Play old-fashioned street games
- See live industrial demonstrations

Event Details
Meet at 11:30 for a self-guided group visit starting at 12:00. You will need several hours to explore and enjoy the facility. Closing time is 17:00.
There is a café and lovely shop at the Visitor Entrance and there are places to stop, eat and drink at as you explore the museum.
There is also an opportunity to take a trip on a canal boat, run by the Dudley Canal & Tunnel Trust, into the tunnels and mines (not included in your entry price).
There is ample car parking with a charge of £3.50.
Note: To make this visit viable we need a minimum of 15 people to book.
